"Yesterday Sal Castro went out of his way to help me and he is not even my agent! I have been with State Farm for 30 years but my agent retired. I was assigned to a new agent in Shrewsbury but since I lost my phone I didn't know his address or phone number. A couple weeks ago I got a car and was told I had 10 days to add it to my policy. That seemed like a good while so I focused on other major priorities... But in the middle of a day where everything was going wrong, I realized the 10 days were up and I was driving without insurance. (I'm sure the cops hear this story all day long.) I was in York, and didn't want to risk driving to Shrewsbury, and since it was after 4 I didn't know if they would even be open anyway - let alone by the time I could get there. I knew there was a State Farm office right nearby...it was a long shot but I decided to stop in. The lady at the first desk could tell I was a mess; as I figured, they could not get into another agent's records but she was willing to help any way she could. Then Sal came out and took me back to his office - past the overflowing bin of Christmas gifts for kids - got hold of my agent and handled my whole problem much more efficiently than I could have done in my state. Good old-fashioned service - pro bono at that!"
